A Loopwheel is a wheel with integral suspension, designed to reduce vibration and increase performance and provide greater comfort.
Loopwheels give you a smoother ride. They are more comfortable than standard wheels: the carbon springs absorb tiring vibration, as well as bumps and shocks. They’re designed for everyday use and are strong and durable. They don’t run as true as a spoked wheel, and you’ll notice more sideways movement, especially in the Loopwheels Classic, but they’re a lot more comfortable.

The 507 wheel (Extreme Version) takes a larger, MTB style tyre, to bring the whole wheel with tyre to 24″. Black Jack tyres available as well as Marathon Plus, on request.

Choosing Your Spring Rate
The springs use hi-tech carbon composite materials and are available in 2 spring strengths (Regular and Stiff).
These rates will allow you to get the best comfort and health protection for your weight and the typical activities that you undertake.
Our loopwheels for wheelchairs help you push over uneven streets, rough tracks and gravel paths more easily, and the carbon springs give you extra power to get up or down kerbs. They reduce jolting and vibration, by as much as two thirds compared with a spoked wheel. With standard quick release axles, a choice between 12mm or ½ inch bearings and available in 24″ and 25″ sizes, loopwheels fit most manual wheelchairs.
Loopwheel springs are made from a carbon composite material, carefully developed and tested to give optimum compression and lateral stability as well as strength and durability. Specially-designed connectors attach the springs to the hub and rim.
The three loops in each wheel work together as a self-correcting system. This spring system between the hub and the rim of the wheel provides suspension that constantly adjusts to uneven terrain, cushioning the rider from bumps and potholes in the road. In effect, the hub floats within the rim, adjusting constantly as shocks from an uneven road hit the rim of the wheel.
The spring configuration allows the torque to be transferred smoothly between the hub and the rim.
Loopwheels reduce vibrations by up to 70% compared with metal spoked wheels. Our innovative Loopwheel technology now comes with 12% extra hi tech carbon.
This extra carbon creates a slightly stiffer spring. It’s easier to get around and turn at speed, which means a more comfortable and more stable ride, especially if travelling and cornering at speed.
Because of the integral suspension, Loopwheels are more comfortable than standard wheelchair wheels. They absorb tiring vibration, bumps and shocks.
Loopwheels fit most manual wheelchairs using standard quick release axles. Choose between 24″ and 25″ diameter wheels, with or without Schwalbe Marathon Plus pneumatic tyres. These wheels have a standard axle bearing diameter of ½” (12.7mm). If you need a 12mm axle bearing instead of ½” then please contact us.
Loopwheels are optimised for adults. If you weigh less than 50kg, you won’t feel as much benefit from the suspension as someone heavier.

Curve & Curve L are a high quality, ergonomic push rim designed and made in Germany. These are available in two sizes: ‘Curve L’ for a larger hand, or ‘Curve’ for smaller hands. Designed for wheelchair users with complete hand function.
Curve Tetra Grip & Curve Tetra Grip L push rims have the same ergonomic shape as the ‘Curve/Curve L’ but in addition are rubber coated for greater grip. Designed for tetraplegics with triceps function and for wheelchair users with complete hand function but little hand strength.
Gekko are designed for wheelchair users with complete hand function and complete or limited hand strength. Our best selling ergonomic push rim.
Clear anodised aluminium push rims are available on request for 24″.
